Scholarship Program Updated
The California Broadcasters Foundation (CBF) is the nonprofit educational arm of the CBA. The current CBF Scholarship Program awards $500 scholarships for two radio station interns and two television station interns each semester. In light of escalating college costs, the CBA/CBF Board of Directors decided to double the number of scholarships and amounts.
The CBF will now offer four radio scholarships for $1000 each and four television scholarships at $1000 each. The Board also chose to expand the pool of applicants to include family members of broadcast station employees.
Who Can Apply:
- Any enrolled college student working as an intern at a California Broadcasters Association member radio or television station. There are no minimum hours per week requirements.
- Any immediate family members of an employee (or the employee) working at a radio or television broadcast station that is a member of the California Broadcasters Association. The family member must be majoring in a broadcast-related field (communications, journalism, engineering, marketing, etc.).
